Azerbaijan Union of Judges

The Union's activities are directed towards improving the mechanisms that ensure the independence of judges and the judiciary, enhancing judges' knowledge and experience in various areas of law, educating citizens and the legal community about the specifics of administering justice, spreading the positive work practices of judges, and promoting beneficial innovations through the study of judicial practices in foreign countries.

The Union continues the effective cooperation established by its predecessors with international organizations and the judicial associations of individual countries, and new partnership relationships are being developed. Special emphasis must be placed on the long-term cooperation with the International Association of Judges. Since 2009, the Union has actively participated in events organized by the International Association of Judges and its regional group, the European Association of Judges, both as an associative member and, since 2012, as a full member. This cooperation has contributed to informing the global community about the progressive judicial and legal reforms in our country, as well as promoting beneficial exchanges of experience among judges.

The Union regularly organizes discussions, roundtables, and seminars on the theoretical and practical problems of legislation for judges and the legal community, while also working on improving the material, medical, and social security of judges and organizing their leisure time.
