Safety

Baku is recognized as one of the safest cities in the region, offering a welcoming and secure environment for visitors. The Baku Convention Center and recommended accommodations are located in well-monitored areas with high safety standards. While Baku is generally safe for tourists, we encourage all attendees to remain vigilant and take standard precautions when exploring the city, as they would in any major international destination. Local authorities maintain a strong security presence to ensure a comfortable experience for all guests.

Payments & Currency

The official currency of Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN). While most hotels, restaurants, and shops in Baku accept international credit and debit cards, it is advisable to carry some cash for small purchases or in locations where card payments may not be available.

Currency exchange services are available at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, banks, and designated exchange bureaus throughout the city. ATMs are widely available, but please check with your bank regarding international transaction fees. For convenience, you may consider exchanging a small amount of AZN before arrival.

Internet

You’ll have access to reliable high-speed internet at the Baku Convention Center and most accommodations. Public Wi-Fi is widely available in cafes, hotels, and key public areas throughout the city.

For uninterrupted connectivity during your stay, consider purchasing a local SIM card from trusted providers like Azercell, Bakcell, or Nar, available at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and various retail stores across Baku. International roaming is also an option, but we recommend checking rates with your provider before arrival.

Upon landing to the Heydar Aliyev İnternational Airport (GYD), attendees can choose from a variety of transportation options to reach the city center and the Baku Convention Center, including pre-arranged airport transfers for a smooth and hassle-free arrival.
